Longball Inc. Golf Clothing Review

Generation Y, Millennials, or whatever you want to call the current crop of twenty and thirty somethings, are seeking to make a change in the golf world. They are tradition-breakers who still carry a love and passion for the game of golf, but want to bring it into the 21st century. A large portion of this new generation includes style trendsetters like Longball Inc., that bring a fresh look to the golf course with their modern athletic apparel.

Longball Inc. was started by a group of guys in Alberta, Canada who were looking to support a friend turning pro in golf. They noticed a lack of fashion options that captured a youthful, fun approach to the golf lifestyle and decided it was time to jump into the market. Soon their idea turned into a reality, and Team Longball now outfits 22 members on various professional tours worldwide, plus — in true Canadian fashion — a few pro hockey players as well.

Longball Inc. Men’s Apparel

If you’re looking for golf polos that have a clean style and modern aesthetic than Longball is definitely the clothing brand for you. We took a look at the Crown and Hype polos as well as the Grind pants.

The Crown polo draws attention with a bold pattern on the top half of the shirt, while the Hype polo looks simple in the front but takes it up a notch with contrasting paneling on the back. Longball’s modern mode still leaves plenty of room for comfort. The polos are constructed from a polyester/spandex blend which lends itself well to a trim athletic cut that flexes naturally with movement. The fabric also boasts sweat-wicking properties necessary for the course.

Longball’s Grind pants appear to be straight forward golf trousers at first glance, but up close inspection reveals a ventilated inseam that showcases the brand’s attention to performance details as well as style.

Each of the men’s pieces are finished with a reflective logos in a stylized script that adds an almost classic appeal to the otherwise contemporary clothes.

Longball Inc. Women’s Apparel

The women’s collection feels as fun as it is athletic. Tanks and tees in bright solids as well as bold graphic patterns on tops and bottoms can be found on their online stop. We tested the ladies Crush polo, Wisp tank, and Fit Skirt.

The construction of the Crush polo matches that of the men’s, it features the same performance polyester/spandex blend fabric along with specialized details like engraved metal snap closures with the “lb” logo. Longball’s women’s Crush polo has a very slim cut which keeps the look feminine despite sharing a similar design to the men’s polos.

The Wisp tank features an easy zip up closure with a lightweight and breathable mesh back that makes it the kind of tank you’d want to wear for any athletic activity — it just so happens that the collar makes it appropriate for the golf course.

The Fit skirt best exemplifies Longball’s ability to tie modern athletic fashion to feminine style. On the Longball shop they state the skirt was “designed with performance and flirting in mind” and that really seems to sum it up pretty well. This is the skirt you expect to see your instagram #WCW wearing.  The length of the skirt was ideal for a youthful feel while still providing enough coverage to stay comfortable while active. The shorts lining the skirt were well hidden in the slight ruffle of the shape. Overall, the Longball Fit skirt is among the most flattering women’s golf bottoms I’ve found.

Longball Inc. Verdict

Longball Inc. is all about fun, modern golf apparel that meets the 21st century’s simultaneous demands of style and performance. Pair that up with very reasonable prices — every piece we tested is price from $50-62 CAD ($38-47 USD) — and it Longball is well on its way to making into itself a staple in any Gen Y golfer’s wardrobe.
