There are tons of golf training aids, and it’s hard to tell what is worth the money. They always sell you on how amazing they are, but often they don’t really work, or they solve a problem you don’t actually have.

Instead of wasting money, let’s look at some of my favorite training aids that can help pretty much any golfer.

1. Golf Smart Ball

You may have seen some pros practicing with this one. The idea is that your arms should stay connected during the swing to stay in sync, on path, and not lose power. I pull this out all the time to get my swing solid. There’s the classic Tour Striker brand here, or a cheaper knockoff if you’re not sure this is for you.

2. Devil Ball

The Devil Ball is designed to veer off the path if your putting impact isn’t straight. This really helped me on my journey to putting better. You can see my full review here.

3. Alignment Sticks

Every golfer should add an alignment stick or two to their bag. Break it out on the range to practice your alignment and path. You can also buy a holder to put behind you and make sure your swing isn’t too shallow or too steep.

4. Foot Spray

If you’re unfamiliar with this, it sounds weird, but hear me out. Just spray some of this on the face of any club, and you can see exactly where you hit the ball on the face. This is invaluable to improving your ball striking.

5. Speed Toad

I’ve experimented with a few different speed training devices, and I like the Speed Toad the best. It attaches to your actual driver shaft, so it feels the same as swinging your driver (similar flex and lag). I found the other devices were throwing off my swing timing, where this one doesn’t. If you want to hit the ball further, check it out!
